Historian, Museum of Jersey City History board member and community advocate Jerome Choice hosts an enriching, emotional and personal journey, highlighting Black history and his life-long experiences in the historic Lafayette neighborhood of Jersey City, originally settled by the Dutch over 400 years ago in the ancient Lenni Lenape village of Communipaw.

Preservation advocate and founder of the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy (JCLC), John Gomez takes us on a journey to sacred Black spaces in Jersey City, including the Bergen Avenue church where the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave one of his final public speeches in 1968 as well as an Ocean Avenue landmark founded as New Jersey’s first Black Catholic parish. Ticket purchase is needed for this tour; seats are limited and will sell out fast!
