Plug into preservation and participate in the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy’s SAVE THE POWERHOUSE community campaign for the 1908 Hudson & Manhattan Railroad Powerhouse, Jersey City’s most iconic architectural monument! Join preservationist John Gomez for the Conservancy’s first round of exterior SAVE THE POWERHOUSE WALKING TOURS on select Saturdays in November-December 2025 + January—April 2026.
All scheduled Save the Powerhouse Walking Tours (scroll down) meet outside the Grove Street PATH at Marin Boulevard & Columbus Drive and conclude at the Powerhouse at Greene and Bay Streets in Downtown Jersey City. Map >
Tickets for all scheduled walking tours are available via JCLC’s Eventbrite: $10 adults + $5 seniors/veterans/students (excluding nominal Eventbrite fees).
Adult attendees receive a FREE Save the Powerhouse keychain and/or a JCLC or I Heart JC sticker; young attendees receive a FREE copy of our newly-published Jersey City’s Historic Powerhouse Neighborhood 80-page coloring collection and small pack of crayons.

Dress warmly and wear grippy footwear in case of icy/wet conditions. A few sites on the tour provide restrooms — please ask first!
This special walking tour is organized by the nonprofit Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy (JCLC) in partnership with the Powerhouse Arts District Neighborhood Association (PADNA), a longtime supporter in the battle to save the Powerhouse!
